Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK)

Aim & Objective

RBSK is one of its kind programs to improve the overall quality of life of children and enabling all children to achieve their full potential and also provide comprehensive care to all the children in the community.

Features

This program involves screening of children from birth to 18 years of age for 4 Ds- Defects at birth, Diseases, Deficiencies, and Developmental delays. It addresses 32 common health conditions for early detection and free treatment and management, including surgeries at tertiary care level.

Eligibility & Target Groups

AIIMS Bhubaneswar serves as the tertiary care point of service delivery to the beneficiaries after they are referred from District Early Intervention Centres (DEICs).
The conditions for which children are being referred to AIIMS are; Congenital deafness and deformities, Cochlear Implantation, Tongue Tie, Burn Contracture, Hypospadias, Cleft Lip and Cleft palate, Syndactyly, Clubfoot, Congenital Cataract, Squint, Glaucoma & other Eye defects.

Treatment Coverage & Benefits

All the services including OPD consultation, necessary investigations, admission, and treatment will be provided free of cost. All the expenditure for the treatment of the patients is sponsored by the National Health Mission (NHM), Odisha.

Procedure to Apply & Documents Required

Procedure

The patient or his/her attendant has to visit the RBSK cell with the DEIC referral letter. The concerned person at DEIC will generate an OPD ticket with Category ‘RBSK’ from the Registration counter for initiation of treatment.

Documents

  • Referral Letter from DEIC.
  • Aadhaar card/Birth certificate.
  • Aadhaar card of parents.
  • Front page of Bank passbook (for reimbursement in case of any other expenditure incurred during treatment).
